My first pineapple

My first pineapple today! I cut it up, it's juicy, it's delicious. Wish I had known that it would be so easy. I followed instructions on this site. There is a site just to explain how to cut a pineapple. Isn't that crazy!? Anyway .. it's http://www.howtocutapineapple.com/. I think the author is pretty funny and has a good sense of humor. So how do you cut a pineapple. In case you want to know how I did it ... I got the pineapple 3 days ago. I wasn't sure if it would be hard to cut it. It does seem to have a hard shell. I have a big sharp knife that I never used. I thought, perhaps, I will need to use it. But then I thought, well ... I have this small knife, that I use to cut fruit. Let's just try using it. Who knows, it might be soft enough. So I tried, it was pretty comfortable cutting the pineapple with it. First I cut off the stalk. It comes off pretty easy. You cut it off right at the neck. Then you cut off a slice at the top of the cylinder. I felt I cut off a bigger slice than I would like, but that's what the website seemed to show in their pictures. Then you cut off a slice from the bottom of the cylinder. After that, you would slice off the skin. I just cut slices off the sides of the cylinder, until there was no skin on it. Then I had a nice, hexagonal cylinder of pineapple flesh. I was proud of it. It was beautiful.

I felt like perhaps the pineapple was a bit too ripe. Some portions were soft. But it wasn't too bad. It was alright.

Then I cut slices off the flesh horizontally. It made 6 or 7 slices. Each one with a hexagonal base. Just the way I like it. You know, you gotta appreciate the aesthetics of the food you are eating too. So I ate up a couple of those nice slices. They were pretty easy on my teeth. So perhaps it is quite ripe. I liked it. It was delicious. I won't hesitate to get another pineapple.
